Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure stability, security, and optimal performance of the enterprise network, including internal and external security measures, vulnerability assessments, and remediation.
- Schedule and execute regular maintenance of networking hardware and software systems, following best practices in network design and configuration.
- Manage various technologies integral to network operations, including server infrastructure, security tools, online services, connectivity solutions, management tools, and legal-specific software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Network and Software Systems:
- Configure, update, and maintain network hardware and end-user hardware not managed by the Firm’s Help Desk for optimal security and uptime.
- Conduct semi-annual inventory checks of server software, hardware, and firmware, generating inventory reports and tracking end-of-life dates.
- Act as an escalation point for Help Desk support and manage escalated support tickets effectively.
- Develop comprehensive network diagrams encompassing IP address spaces, subnets, VLANs, and networking equipment.
Security:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in conducting monthly internal and external vulnerability scans, reporting critical alerts, and devising remediation strategies.
- Fine-tune alerting systems and conduct regular audits of monitoring systems for optimal configuration and functionality.
- Coordinate monthly security meetings to address vulnerabilities, assign patching tasks, and conduct post-remediation scans.
- Review and respond to daily security alerts promptly, documenting procedures for future reference and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing, designing, and implementing network infrastructure, preferably in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
- Strong technical proficiency in Windows systems administration, Microsoft SQL, Exchange, Office 365/Azure, and Active Directory.
- Experience with legal-specific software such as iManage, Thomson Reuters 3E, and Foundations is advantageous.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
