Job Description

Our company is currently seeking a skilled Desktop Engineer to join our Information Technology team. This role involves providing technical support for a dynamic work environment. As a Desktop Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering, deploying, and maintaining systems and applications that are used by our end-users. You will closely collaborate with employees to address their technology needs and work alongside talented technology professionals who primarily utilize Microsoft technologies. Our IT team has a strong history of implementing cutting-edge technologies and managing a highly reliable infrastructure.

The ideal candidate for this position should have a proven track record of progressively handling technical support and delivering desktop solutions to end users. While prior experience in the financial industry is not mandatory, an interest in applying technology to support investment management is highly desirable. Excellent customer support skills, the ability to quickly learn new technologies, and a willingness to support applications, desktops, and scripts throughout their life cycles are crucial. We are seeking a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a relentless drive to implement effective solutions.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Management Information Systems or Computer Sciences
  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure supporting end user systems in an enterprise environment
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering and implementing end user systems in an enterprise environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Office 365, and Windows Operating Systems at the administration level
  • Installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Knowledge of desktop and server hardware, including performance optimization
  • Project management experience, including milestone tracking and target completion dates
  • Strong technical curiosity and a desire to continuously learn
  • Extensive experience with PowerShell for system management
  • Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM) solutions
  • Fundamental knowledge of IP networking, routing, and system security
  • Proficiency in VOIP and SIP video conferencing technologies
  • Proven skills in technical documentation
  • Availability for on-call work during nights and weekends, as well as occasional light travel
  • Physical ability to lift and carry computers and related equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Beneficial Skills and Interests:
  • Programming and scripting languages such as Python, Visual Basic, VBscript, or similar
  • Experience with imaging solutions like Windows Deployment Services and System Center Configuration Manager
  • Understanding of Unix/Linux, particularly RHEL and CentOS
  • Basic understanding of coding best practices and version control
  • Knowledge of configuration management systems and automation technologies such as Ansible
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or similar ticketing systems
  • Software management expertise, including repackaging, scripted installations, and deployment
  • Experience in delivering technical training to individuals and groups
  • MCP/MCSE/CCNA or equivalent certifications are a plus
  • Knowledge of the Securities and Trading industry
