**Job Description: AWS Engineer (Hybrid Contract Role)**
**Location:** Morristown, NJ
**Position Overview:**
As an AWS Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing AWS infrastructure and security solutions tailored specifically for the energy industry. This position requires a deep understanding of AWS services, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cloud technologies and eager to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure solutions customized to meet the unique requirements of energy clients.
2. Implement and manage AWS security measures, including identity and access management, network security, encryption, and compliance, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and standards.
3. Collaborate closely with energy clients to understand their business needs and translate them into scalable and secure AWS architectures.
4. Optimize AWS environments for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency, considering the specific demands of energy-related workloads.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and security issues in AWS environments, providing timely and effective solutions.
6. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to AWS architecture, configurations, and processes, ensuring clarity and consistency.
7. Stay up-to-date with AWS best practices, new features, and industry trends relevant to the energy sector, incorporating them into our services as appropriate.
8. Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and energy clients on AWS-related matters, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
**Qualifications:**
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. (Master's degree preferred)
2. Proven experience working as an AWS Engineer or similar role, with a focus on infrastructure and security within the energy industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, and AWS security features.
4. Hands-on experience with AWS security tools and best practices, with a strong understanding of energy-specific security requirements.
5. Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, particularly as they relate to energy systems.
6. Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex issues and propose effective solutions.
8. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with diverse teams and energy clients.
9. AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security Specialty) are a plus, particularly if relevant to the energy sector.
**Location and Working Arrangement:**
This is a hybrid contract role based in Morristown, NJ, with the flexibility to work remotely as needed. Occasional travel to client sites may be required.
