API Platform Architect

Job Description

As the API Platform Architect, you will be responsible for engaging with technical and business stakeholders to understand business needs and guide the overall direction of your product You will not only lead the modernization projects but also address the organizational and cultural changes, pushing the organization forward while solving difficult technology problems.

Responsibilities

· Provides Technical thought leadership and hands on technical architecture design for the Product

· Develops architecture to implement product requirements, including performance, scalability, security, and manageability

· Presents and defends architecture, design, and technique choices to internal and external audiences

· Sustains the on-going transformation to a Continuous Deployment model through high-level of automation

· Works in collaboration with and trains/coaches other Product Tech Leads implement common standards, patterns and practices

· Actively contributes to Technical Design Authority whose goal is to ensure consistency in implementation across Product Capabilities teams

· Proactively learns new technologies, standards, and applications; keeps current with technology developments within the industry

· Mentors developers, DevOps engineers in the team

· Performs periodic architecture and design reviews to identify opportunities for improvement as well as sharing of code across other products

 

Required Experience

· Bachelor’ s degree in Computer Science or related field

· 10+ years experience as technical architect

· Demonstrated experience in full lifecycle of transforming high volume, high availability, large, complex mission critical platforms (concept to implementation) in a Cloud Native environment (AWS, Microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, API Gateway…) in CPG retail, food service industry

· Experience in Agile and Extreme Programming software development methodologies

· Comfort with managing multiple projects at once without sacrificing detail

· Ability to work in collaboration across timezones, cultural boundaries and with other Product Technical Leads

· Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work autonomously, and self-direct within a highly communicative, interactive team structure

· Demonstrated ability to influence, communicate and lead technology and design decisions

· Collaborating with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or application

· Ability to drive technical discussions

· Excellent communication and presentation skills
