Essential Functions

  • Perform testing of back-end/server applications (back-end testing, no front end, written in C++)
  • Register and test/verify issues (managed in Jira)
  • Assist in configuring and managing multiple instances of PROD and UAT environments
  • Act as level 3 support – troubleshoot and resolve issues which require deeper understanding of the system and cannot be resolved by Level 1/Level 2 people
  • Log analysis (plain text and FIX logs)
  • Perform analysis of data in DB (Oracle and PostgreSQL)
  • Work with distributed team (onsite in NYC/Chicago and offshore)



This position will require travel to regional (Likely Chicago)l and offshore (Ukraine) offices. Travel can be up to 30%.



Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’ s degree in computer science or another related field.
  • 1 year of experience in the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of FIX protocol
  • Comfortable working on UNIX / Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience working with relational databases, good SQL skills
  • Experience with Source Control management systems
  • Experience with Atlassian products (Jira and Confluence)
  • Manual testing experience (back-end applications)


Preferred Education and Experience
  • 3 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Programming background in scripting language
  • Ability to create/understand XML files
  • Knowledge of capital markets and trading activities
  • Experience with continuous integration systems
