Algorithms Engineer Location: Chicago, IL
Tanvas is a fast-growing technology company based in downtown Chicago’ s West Loop neighborhood. We develop surface haptic technology that provides touch feedback on flat glass surfaces. TanvasTouch technology allows you to feel onscreen elements through their texture, shape, and reaction to your touch. Like the first radio or color television, TanvasTouch is a truly new way to experience the world, and it is revolutionizing how people interact with technology.
We are seeking a full-time algorithms engineer for developing sensing and actuation algorithms for TanvasTouch. This position will involve working with Tanvas electrical and software teams to research and develop algorithms for real-time sensing and tactile rendering applications. Haptic interfaces are a fresh topic in consumer electronics, and this role is a great opportunity to work with a company that is redefining the haptic experience for touch screen devices.
The successful candidate must have strong knowledge and experience with:
? Digital filter design
? Fourier/Hilbert analysis of digital signals
? Data acquisition and analysis
? Programming in C/C++, MATLAB, or Python Experience with the following will be helpful:
? Sensing systems
? Machine learning
? Embedded systems programming The successful candidate must be proactive, tenacious and passionate about developing systems that enable amazing user experiences. Since the successful candidate will be exposed to all aspects of the business including interactions with customers, suppliers, and investors, strong written and oral communication skills are required.
